Tonight when I came home a parcel from Ingo surprised me. He has now casted the figures I ordered and of which I have shown the masters before. Well late in the night I wasn't able to resist and painted the first three figures.
Far away from the quality of TK, but that was all I was able to do at 10.00 pm tonight. I waited years to get this unit and now I simply wanted to paint some:-))
And for those of you becomming more interested in the subject, there are great books for cheap money from Leonaur books available. For example:
Lake's campaign in India
The recollection of Skinner of Skinners horse
We are a group of Enthusiasts from all over the world, mostly Germany, who create historical battles in scale 1:72. As we do this since more than 10 years we thought it is time for our own blog. Being a historical enthusiast I wanted to fulfill my dream of producing my own figures in this scale too. So I started working with several sculptors to produce exotic figures in 1:72 which I fear nobody else would bring on the market.

My Bengal lancers painted by Krisztian
Our hobbyfriend Krisztian is in the sad positqion that he lost his job. As it is difficulty to find a new one in Hungary, he asked me if he can paint figures for me. As I am working on a 2nd Afghan war diorama I thought it a great idea to get help here and help him out with some payment.
Krisztian offers to paint figures for 1,50 Euro each which is a bargain. See here the quality of his painting. And in case anyone of you needs figures to be painted think of TK who would gladly take on the job. In case you want to help a hobbyfriend send him a mail at takacs.krisztian@gmail.com and get some great painted figures.
So here are the 9th Bengal lancers ready for war.

Aliwal and Massimo
This time it was a real pleasure to get photos from Massimo. He started on working on my favourite colonial war - The Sikh wars:-)
So here is a photo from Bill Horans vignette "Aliwal"
And here now the first steps from Massimo. I like these photos of the "Making of". Gives me some ideas for own conversions too.
Next the ghost of Chillianwhalla please:-))))

In the gardens of an Imperial palace
I know you all like Stephan Berry's dioramas. So here is his latest work. You can see the whole work and a description to download as pdf at his homepage.
For me as a bloodthirsty battlediorama builder it is hard to bear what he made out of this hoplite figure!!:-)))
Great details again. Some day I hope I can see them all in reality on a special exhibition!!

I am not the only one who works on Pyrrhus
Just found a nice blog with some good paintings for a Pyrrhic army.
Beside this yesterday I had the time to read the latest issue of the Ancient warfare magazine. This time great articles about Greek Guard units with a great battle painting from Igor Dzis. Hm, I thought a little Agema of companions in uniform is something I should add to my army:-))

Seven Years war
On Rüdiger Fischers homepage I found a new diorama "Cossacks attacking Prussian foragers". Cossacks against a Prussian Garrison Regiment which is some of the lesser known subjects in the SYW. I always like Rüdiger's ideas for dioramas of this period. I hope you enjoy his homepage. As a teaser here a few photos from the diorama.

Hougomont
This time I want to show you again some photos from Thomas Mischak's Waterloo diorama. There are some exotic and lesser known figures on this part of his diorama.
This shows the attack on Hougomont and the death of General Bauduin. The building itself is by Jens Najewitz, the converted General by Michael Bartling.
See the slashing Sappeurs. I can't remember the manufactor of this conversions, but maybe Thomas can help with a comment.
KGL light infantry from Art-Miniaturen
The mounted officer is a casting from Frank Germershaus. Very rare to get. I am lucky to have two of them in my collection:-))
At the end Thomas asked me to give you this link. It seems the buildings needs every help it can get.

And more Wachau
As you liked this one, I have more photos of it to offer:-) I too like dioramas with proper lines and formations as I too often have seen great dioramas with a lot of mistakes in this way.
