Some nice ACW Conversions

Our hobbyfriend Ralf Guntermann sent me some photos of his collection. Here a few great conversions from the "good old times",when we had to create conversions ourselves.

Today with 3d-technic you can nearly have everything which is good on one side, but I remember the evenings when we sat down with a knife, "killed" some figures and created new ones. OK, I never tried the Airfix magazine idea of Chinese cavalry, made with a lot of paper etc.:-)

My favourites of his photos first  - Louisiana Tigers

Upper body - ACW figures

Baggy trousers - Esci muslim warriors

Gaiters - Esci Austrian infantry

the rest - simply Milliput:-)

14th Brooklin from Massimo

Yesterday Massimo surprisecd me with a new set from his own range. This set is not in the shop of Blackwatch, only available through special order.

You can order it from Massimo yourself. Simply write him an email at  daikaigan@hotmail.it

Years ago we talked about the 14th Brooklin. Massimo told me then, he wanted to produce it, as he has a range for the battle of Bull Run (of 1st Manasses as most of my friends call it).

After his Virginia infantry, this is now the second set. More will follow soon.

Red Cross at Solferino

and for sure for many wars after 1859...

The latest Set from Massimo. I don't know how Nuns looked in the USA in the 1860ies, but I guess they could also be useful for the ACW and Franco-Prussian war.

Gettysburg on Youtube

While I searched for some documentations, I stumbled over this video from Tommer17

I knew there are dioramas on Youtube too, but never took the time to search for them. It seems this will change in the future.

The dramatic with the soundtrack is good and I like to see conversions from non-ACW figure sets.
Also the powdersmoke is good.

So I thought I share it with you. Just in case you haven't thought about this source for dioramas too.

And check his Last of the Mohican one. A little bit too much powdersmoke for me, but looks very good. And it is funny to see what figures he used. From the distance you won't see the details.

Massimo sent me these photos of a little diorama with his own figures. Are available in the shop btw:-)

I wish I could paint in this style...

ACW Casualties from Massimo

The latest set in our shop are some ACW casualties, made by Massimo.

Something I always like to have as it brings "life" into a diorama. But I guess for wargamers not so interesting?

Confederates from Massimo

Here I have another nice little vignette made by Massimo from his own figures.
