The Alamo

Since two years I am digitalising my uniform-archive. This gives me more space for figures.

Last week I worked through my Mexican infantry files. There I found photos from Alfred's old Alamo-Diorama. I don't know, why I had figure photos mixed in the uniformplates. On the other hand, this gives me material for a new post:-)

I guess these photos are over 30 years old now. The good old times, when we had to convert the figures we needed.

Texan uprising in 1/72

My old friend Pierre had the chance to visit some Museums in the USA. He brought back some nice photos from the local museums.

This is something for the nostalgic fanes between us. No impressing paintjob and the "conversions" are interesting. But I like the scenes. Goliath is my favourite

First Alamo

Now Goliad

Another Alamo-Diorama

This one here I found some years ago when I visited my old friend John in Wales. There was a village with an empty shop in it. Just in the window were some figure dioramas. Beside this one all 54mm with a lot of Condee-figures etc. A pity that we came too late for seeing the shop opened...

Sorry for the bad photos, this was made with my old analog camera through the window.

Alamo - the diorama

Not that you have to wait until the next weekend - Here is the endproduct from Alfred. A great one in my eyes!! Sadly as far as I know the mission has not survived.

I think we should do it again in scale 1:1 units this time:-))

Another Diorama of the Past - Alamo

As he promised, Alfred sent more photos of his old diorama projects. From the time when we had just Airfix and Esci.

See here first a few conversions he made for the attack
