I always like to see such Roman camps. Often I envy the guys who have the space to put such a diorama on display...
On the other hand we already have up to 4000 painted Gauls and Romans painted for 43 AD...:-)
This time Juan from Spain is the hobbyfriend who created it.
We are a group of Enthusiasts from all over the world, mostly Germany, who create historical battles in scale 1:72. As we do this since more than 10 years we thought it is time for our own blog. Being a historical enthusiast I wanted to fulfill my dream of producing my own figures in this scale too. So I started working with several sculptors to produce exotic figures in 1:72 which I fear nobody else would bring on the market.

Dutch/Belgian light cavalry at Waterloo
I know we are a little late for the 200th aniversary but I guess Waterloo is always popular and as Pieter wanted to round up his range of the Dutch/Belgian army in 1815 see here the latest Masters Massimo finished last week. They are from the 4th, 5th and 6th cavalry. The 8th could be simply painted up from French Hussars in my eyes.
Some figures to feed up your units of HATs set of the four light regiments of the Dutch/Belgian cavalry at Waterloo. Sadly HAT only had one pose for each regiment.
Hopefully in 2-3 weeks they will be available in the shop.

Sandokan
Who of you remembers the 4-part TV-Series with Kadir Bey based on the books of Emilio Salgari?
A friend of mine is a collector of movies and TV-Series and Sandokan is his most favorite hero of his youth.
So I thought to make him a special gift and asked Massimo to make me a figure. In the end Massimo made it for free for me (!!) and he painted and arranged it on the base too. So I wanted to make a gift and got one myself - or at least I had a gift for free:-)
Looks like the original:-)
As I am always the one who wants to have big dioramas and just finished "Flashman's Lady" two weeks ago, I already had some strange thoughts about Brook and his campaigns in Borne....

A new addition to my Wellington in India range.
I am sure I have written here on the past that the start into my own production was to have such a range for my own collection. I am still working on a diorama for Assaye or the siege of Seringapatam.
Here now the next step to round it up - Tipu's Tiger mortars. These guns were a must for me the first time I've seen them. This here is in the artillery-museum in London
And now Andy sculpted one for me. He also converted the Mysoren artillerycrew I already had in the shop for it.
The next now will be the 74th Highlanders of which I already sent the details to Massimo.
Afterwards the Indian prince on his Elephant and a British artillery crew. And if I find a sculptor who can make Indian cows at the end the train.
Ah, and before I forget it - you can order them here
Bunker Hill dioramas in a bigger scale
Before I go into the holidays here another post.
Years ago I got these photos from a friend who visited the USA. He told me these dioramas are at the museum there. 54mm the one and the other looks smaller than 1/72.
