Egyptian cavalry Crimean war

As you know Hank is still working on a Turkish army for the Crimea. To round up the range we already did the Egyptian cavalry. Now Hank asked for Egyptian cavalry and here are the first photos of the nearly finished masters.

Ok, lets go building the diorama

First it always looks like a mess
Markus is really happy to have after years of painting his little guys on this plate
First arrange the units already glued on wooden stands on the plate

Schmitty still has to glue several units and the same is to do for Rainer and Markus
 Slowly it gets bigger
Late in the night while all sellers already left their stands we are still glueing and organising
I am myself feeling like Guliver:-)

Oh shit, I hope the tables on which we put the diorama can hold this 90 kg!!
 Now Operation "Desert Storm" begins!
This time we are using real sand, taken away from outside and dried at home. Looks much better than the stuff you can buy from the model-train shops. The difficulty is to cover the edges of the stands so that you can't see them in the end. All in all we had about 125 kg of sand on the plate.

Pyrrhus is done as I am too

Back from the fair, totally knackered with not much sleep in the last days.... Before I start posting of the
diorama, telling you news about figures etc. here are the photos from Alfred who was faster then me posting them on his facebook page.

I have safed around 150 photos but will not bore you with all of them.
It was a nice weekend, meeting a lot of old and new friends there and I hope for the next year we will have as much fun as we had this time.

Good night, I need to go to bed now......

Now just four days left and another mail from Schillings

We had talked about it before but now Ulrike and Jörg surprised me with this photos of French line infantry.
They will be available at the DUZI too.

I am happy that as a "seller" I will be there in the hall before you all:-) Makes sure that I can get enough of them!!!

Pyrrhus - Just six days left

Last week Stephan Berry sent this photos of his part of the diorama. Puh this is really breathtaking!
I hope we can match this quality with the rest of wagons and Elephants....

Linklist

In the meantime I have checked how it works to post links on the blog. So I started today with showing six links (after my favourite blogs) here. All of them forums or historical pages with uniformpages. I hope you enjoy them as I do. Over the next month I will post several of them. Having already safed around 1000 on my PC, I am wondering how much such a blog can bear:-)

What should we do with more French Guard Grenadiers

When Jörg told me that he wants to produce French old Guard I told him "Not again". I have already more of then painted from other manufactors that Napoleon already had at Waterloo.

So I thought about possiblities and we spoke of head-conversions too. In the near future there will be other heads for them too. And then see what would be possible just French units for the Revolutionary wars.

Just imagine all this units with trousers as usual on campaign. Well, I can continue with Italians...
