Here some photos of a WW1 diorama (wargame) shown at the Salute. A very nice mix of HAT and Strelets figures
We are a group of Enthusiasts from all over the world, mostly Germany, who create historical battles in scale 1:72. As we do this since more than 10 years we thought it is time for our own blog. Being a historical enthusiast I wanted to fulfill my dream of producing my own figures in this scale too. So I started working with several sculptors to produce exotic figures in 1:72 which I fear nobody else would bring on the market.

This time something different - Oxen from Fritz figures
You know we plan our next big diorama which will be Ulundi 1879. From Alfred we already have the Zulu kral. But what would be Zulus or a wagon train without oxen?
The same goes for my range of Wellington in India. It is nearly complete, just the artillery and the staff are missing. So I asked Massimo for the Crew and Andy to sculpt me a British gun (same system as in the AWI )
But the guns and wagons need oxen too.
So I asked Leo of Phersu Miniatures as I knew he is able to sulpt animals.
The next question was how to cast them. They have no bases and the legs are nearly paralel to each other.
Ulrike and Jörg Schilling was the help I needed. From them I got excellent castings,
See here my humble try to paint some samples.
First the Indian oxen
And ideas how to use them
Next the African Oxen
And the idea behind is
Or simply to expand my range of the German Schutztruppe which I want to round up too.
But then I fear I need mules too:-)
Or simply use them as cavalry:-):-)

18th century French army from Denis
We already have the first 10 figures made by our French friend in the shop.
Now I got new photos some figures from Alfred. In the meantime Denis sculpted nearly the whole French army for the war of the Austrian succession. They are of course also useful for the SYW. Maybe not all as I heard he started on several Volunteer units to round up the range which makes me very happy:-)
So all in all I guess at the end the range will have close to 100 different figures. Well I hope now to see some British to fight them.
Here now some samples from the range
Fontenoy is comming!!!

French Guard Foot artillery
In my collection I have the Esci-figures which are not really good and just four poses and very nice old figures from Hinton-Hunt.
Beside this there is no French Guard Foot artillery available. Correct me please if I am wrong.
So Andy asked Massimo for a set of these guys to go with his range of French guns. All in all two crews, loading and firing.
