The next set to complete the Spanish army of 1808

Maybe you have recognized, that I want to complete all the ranges, Massimo sculpted for Hagen in the past.  I think, a complete range is always better as only half finished armies.

So step by step, we want to arrange this. My first focus is on the Spanish army of 1807 to 1809. Some cavalry units and services, as well as a high staff are still missing.

Here now we have the next step - Bringing up the old set of 4 Catalonian Cazzadores to our usual set of 12 figures. If you take a closer look at the flagbearer, he already has the new blue uniform, introduced in 1805.

The 1808 Spanish artillery is available now

In the meantime I got my own sample set of the Spanish artillery. Another step to a complete army for 1808-1809. The bigger challenge will the army from 1810 onwards.

If you are interested in this set, you can buy it from Massimo directly. Simply send him a mail do daikaigan@hotmail.it.

Here are the photos of what you will receive

This is the first set of Spanish horse artillery as far as I know. So I think, you need it for a Spanish peninsular army:-) I will start painting mine next weekend.

Battle of Bailen 1808

Another great diorama in the Spanish museum Timo visited was this old Bailen Diorama. The figures are mostly Stadden 25mm figures. Thanks to Alfred for the information!

As I have samples of all Falcata Sets and also the NapoleoN range, Kennington or SHQ Spaniards and of course HAT, I think a Spanish army with all the important units is possible to create. Also I have of course many Esci Prussian Jägers painted as Spanish as we did in the past:-)

And in our own production we have several missing units which you can find here. As I have nearly all needed French units in my collection, this may be an idea for the next project.

I wonder about one thing. The last set of figures I put into our old shop was Spanish cavalry charging. So far we sold only one set of this. Other sets from this range are running in much bigger numbers.

Is it that the figures are not good, or simply nobody recognized them as in the new shop suddenly every set was new?

If you are interested in them, you can buy the set here.

The 31eme legere in Spain

Maybe you have heard of the uniform-series painted by "El Guil"? Drawings of many units of the French army in Eastern Spain.

On of my favorites in these campaign uniforms is the 31eme legere. Just vests, no coats and nice colors.

My friend Pieter had it on his wishlist, so Marc and I decided it would be a nice birthdaygift for him.
And as usualy Massimo did a great job:-)

This weekend I will try to paint a set of them. White/Green French fighting redcoats:-)
