Battle of Sempach 1386

The battle of Sempach was the decisive battle in the war of independce of the Swiss from Austria.

This time I have photos from Frank Velte, a flat figure diorama about this fight. A good colourful army, no "dark ages".

2026 = 500 years battle of Mohac

Our Hungarian hobbyfriends created a diorama of a lesser known battle in European history. But one which is very important for it's history - the battle of  Mohács 1526.

To learn more about the battle, simply take a look at Wikipedia. Three years later the Ottomans stand before the walls of Vienna for the first time.

Comming back to the diorama, which is done in the same style as our own projects of the last 27 years (what? I am getting old....)

See the photos on his own blog here. And just as a teaser, here some photos I copied from it.

The shields of the Christian troops are impressing and when I have it right in mind, some of the Ottoman Spahis are bing sculpted by Zsolt.

Our hobbyfriend Frank Velte visited the war museum in Athen...

... and sent me these photos of byzantene soldiers.

I guess it is 9th to 11th century - another nice idea for a figure project.

Patricks new El Cid Diorama

Patrick created a new medieval diorama - El Cid and his troops marching out on campaign.

                                                            Here you see the Cid

The funny thing is, while the ordinary figures are from another seller of 3D figures, he asked our Chinese friend and partner to create the Cid and Jimena for him. I hope you recognize Charlton Heston and Sophia Loren:-)

Wolfgang Hartungs Viking Village

Our late hobbyfriend Wolfgang Hartung wanted Patrick to have his latest projekt, a Viking village. Patrick finished the diorama which is now on display in the museum.

I am sure Wolfgang would have liked it.

A medieval siege in 1:72

Here I want to show the photos of a diorama, we sold at Ebay last week. It was from the heritage of our late hobbyfriend Wolfgang Hartung, who wanted us to get his dioramas and figures.

We will put some of his work in the museum, while we sell others to organize the exhibition and cover the costs of it and the 3rd Dioramica figure fair on the 22nd May 2022.

I hope, this way people can enjoy his work long over his too early death.
