Some photos from my last holiday in Trieste

Since five years my children always want to have their holiday in Northern Italy. A nice country, good food and hot weather - but I would like to see more of the world....

So tomorrow I will have one of our hobbytours, visiting the 1st Dioramica and hope to see a lot of you guys there.

If you are not able to come visit their homepage. I am sure photos of the event will appear there:

And for sure on this blog:-)

Ok, comming back to Italy. In Trieste I found the museum Diego de Henriquez. This guy collected a lot of WW1 vehicles and weapons and after WW2 he took what he could get.
Beside this he collected toy-soldiers and other stuff.

Here the list of his collection

And here some photos I made there

A kind of card game

Good old toys for the children

The more serious things - in this coach Archeduke Franz Ferdinand was driven to his grave after Sarajevo

My favourite - Reviresco makes such armoured cars in 1/72 scale. Great stuff!

This is a model:-)

But can anybody tell me what this is?

Thomas' ever growing Chinese Ming army

sounds like the "ever victorious army" - but that is another war:-)

I am really impressed by the work of Thomas. One day we will have photos of a big diorama with thousands of Chinese and Koreans to battle the Japanese in the late 16th century.

Here are some photos from his range. A mix of upcomming and already available figures.
See the range in our shop

And wondering what comes up next I saw the latest news from Caesar miniatures. Beside all the modern and WW2 stuff at least another ancient one - Han Chinese.

For sure Thomas will use them for conversions. But for me I will take them together with the newline range and the 3D-figures I got to build up a Chinese army for the war of the heavenly horses - another of the future projects we have in mind:-)

A Woodland-Indian camp from Thomsomfeld

I still have a lot of photos from Thomsomfeld left.

This is a nice little diorama, a camp of Woodland Indians with traders.

British guns and a Sepoy Artillery for Wellington in India

I talked with Andy that I need some British artillery to round up my range for Wellington in India.

Alfred told me that in India (as well as in the Peninsular war) the British used the old artillery-system from the AWI. So I suggested to Andy that a range of guns for these wars would be an interesting subject.

We already have the Portuguese artillery in the shop. These guys used the old system in Spain.

Now I wanted to have a Sepoy artillery too and asked Massimo for it

So now the only thing missing in my range is an Indian commander. I still have a prince on an Elephant in mind:-)

And now with these guns available I also asked the hobby-friend for whom Massimo made the US infantry in Hunting-shirts what he thinks about a true British artillery. The guns from Imex are a joke....
