A unit of Bavarian Cuirassiers goes as French here:-)
More cavalry in reserve, mostly Hinton Hunt and Tumbling Dice with a few Art-Miniaturen
We are a group of Enthusiasts from all over the world, mostly Germany, who create historical battles in scale 1:72. As we do this since more than 10 years we thought it is time for our own blog. Being a historical enthusiast I wanted to fulfill my dream of producing my own figures in this scale too. So I started working with several sculptors to produce exotic figures in 1:72 which I fear nobody else would bring on the market.

More Bavarians for 1870
Hi guys,
you know I started with the Bavarian infantry from Massimo over a year ago. The first of his figures we were able to cast. This first two sets were made in cooperation with Michael Cremerius from Germania.
I decided now to increase the range for this war with already having Prussians and French in our
shop . See here in the shop what we already have for this subject.
See here the new Bavarians which we will offer next week. This weekend I have to paint all these samples here and then put the articles in the shop.
More other 1870 stuff will come very soon.
Beside this I have to paint some more Hereros to increase the Schutztruppen range to make it interesting for collectors to have a full army. Schuztruppe command and artillery will follow soon.
And in the meantime I read some books about German Southwest in 1914/15 and I think we need the Imperial light horse and Portuguese troops too:-) What do you think about the Subject, is WW1 interesting too?

Figures for the Boxer-Rebellion
As the colonial wars are my favourite subject I always thought about making a diorama for the most
colourful of them - The Boxer-Rebellion.
We have the following figures on the market:
Plastic:
Redbox - the whole range. Well, the quality...
Orion - Very nice boxers, but too few regular chinese
HAT - WW1 Russians - a simple paintjob to have them in 1900 colours
http://www.hat.com/Othr6/Wild02P.html
ESCI/HAT/ACA -British colonials - can be converted to a lot of European units
HAT - British sailors. Head swops to other nations possible
Pegasus - Even their WW2 Russian sailors would be useful
Metals:
Kennington had a nice range for the boxer Rebellion. Now maybe SHQ, but I found especially the boxers not in their listing.

Stan Johansson has a range too. A very nice selection, but the quality again...
http://www.stanjohansenminiatures.com/boxer.htm

The best for Russians and Japanese in my eyes is the Stonewall figures range
And you can find a lot of other stuff if you search the web. Some day I think I will complete the listing of figure-manufactors in this blog....
But what is really great is again Dr. Afred Frankensteins conversion cabinet:-) Years ago he put the idea of this project at the homepage of Kai Fuhrmann together with an article in German. If you want to enjoy this and take a look at ideas like the following photos, check the link.
What holds me back from a diorama of the battle of Tientsin are buildings. Has anybody an idea where I can get Chinese style houses in 1/72??

French and Indian war
Our friend Thomas made again a great FIW diorama. The 18th century in America is his favourite subject
and I am glad that he will let us cast a lot of his conversions in the shop which will be a great push
for all the fans of this period
See here one photo as a teaser
more are on shop on Thomsons Homepage. Enjoy!!

And more photos from the Rocroi diorama - This time the fight in the center
While the cavalry fought on both flanks of the armies in the center we had a typical infantryfight.
The the mixture of all available manufactors. We had a lot of metals from Tumbling Dice, Hinton Hunt and SHQ figures on the table together with some old Warrior and all the available Plastic manufactors. When we show it next time we will use much more of the conversions from Massimo as well as most of the existing Mars range and the rest of the Art-miniaturen we haven't had the time to paint.
All the Swedish became French..
While the Imperial became Spanish... The old days when we painted from the cover of the box....
The Pikemen were a challenge.
A lot of them are Art-Miniaturen
While here Alfred painted a whole unit from the old Les Higgins 20mm range. They fit very well.
Just another overview
And here the French artillery
More photos will follow!

What else was on display in Mainz
Here some photos from the works of other collectors friends. There was really extrem good stuff on display there!
First of all Ingo's 25mm ACW diorama. All the figures are selfmade and available from Scilling.
Now here an impressing Egyptian boat. Hm, more of them for a See-people invasion diorama.....
Modern US in irak - Bridging
This I found especially great. 1:72 Russian Helicopter basis in Bachrain 1987 or 1989.
This reminded me on my youth when I got this Märklin metal boxes too. But of course I was never able to make such things!
This boat here in the same style, but with its 1,50 meters an eyecatcher
This little diorama was 1:35 - not my scale but I liked the display.
This here is 1/72 and funny. German patrol in the Kosovo "Hey they have stolen our wheels over night"
Again the guys with the submarines were there
And an early medieval settlement in 1:72
Much more will follow...
