Rüdiger Fischer's new AWI project

In 1976 the German TV showed a 3-part-series about the Hessians in the AWI. The German title is Der Winter der ein Sommer war.

I have this series in my collection of historical movies. In the 70ies there were a lot of such series in Germany, usually well researched.

Now Rüdiger took on the project, decided for his scene the embarking of the Hessians

I took a few of the photos from his homepage, the whole collection (and other dioramas) you can see here

BTW, the Grenadiers and Jäger sitting in the boats are available from Hagen Miniatures:-)

Maratha light cavalry

18th and early 19th century India is still my favorite subject.

My mate Jim from the USA sent this photos of converted medieval Russian cavalry. A great idea in my mind, cannon fodder for my Sepoy artillery:-)

In the meantime I have finished hald of the Andy Copestake's book on the army of Hindustan.

Good work Andy!

My Celtic defenders at Medway

While I was gluing my Romans on bases, Rainer took charge of my collection of Celts.

These are the defenders of the rampart behind the river. A hard nut to crack for the Romans.

Together with Rainer's figures, we have a frontline of 2,80 meters here.

And it was a nightmare to paint so many figures with different colors....

Prussian artillery 1870

The project is going forward. The artillerymen are already with the caster and Massimo completed the limber with horses

The guns are already with me, made in 3D by Peter Schuchhardt. See here the result of the joint Italian-Spanish-German production:-)
