Hello Hobbyfriends,
this time I have a real gem here. Massimo made these figures for another hobbyfriend who joined us
at Hagen. I hope we can have these figures available soon to increase my own British army!!
We are a group of Enthusiasts from all over the world, mostly Germany, who create historical battles in scale 1:72. As we do this since more than 10 years we thought it is time for our own blog. Being a historical enthusiast I wanted to fulfill my dream of producing my own figures in this scale too. So I started working with several sculptors to produce exotic figures in 1:72 which I fear nobody else would bring on the market.

Tumbling Dice Zouaves painted as Papal Zouaves for 1867 Mentana
With the beginning of 2014 Tumbling Dice joined our group at Hagen-Miniatures. So this great range of figures is available from us now too. The price is the same, but as a non-British you would have an advantage of the postal costs. So if you are interested, here is the link
One of the things I always wanted to have is to see pictures of the figures before I buy them. Sadly Paul has no photos of his figures on his own homepage. We want to change this and because of this I started to paint all the Tumbling Dice figures from my own collection to put photos in the shop. If anybody of you can help with photos of already painted figures I would be very greatful!
Here are two photos from Papal Zouaves from my collection. Long ago I had the idea of creating a diorama of the battle of Mentana 1867. Just because it is one of the lesser known battles.
Maybe one day I can complete it. The Papal army is too colourful not be shown on a diorama
When I visited the army museum in Bruxelles there were a lot of original uniforms of this unit. I made photos of them and went into the local colour-shop to let them mix the colour in the same tone as the originals had. The only problem I had to buy a bottle of 250 ml and I am not sure if in the end I would have more of them then the Pope himself!

A cavalry charge at Waterlooo
Here are the latest photos I've got from Thomas Mischak. This time the 5th and 6th French lancers at Waterloo.
Some years ago I had the chance to see this great diorama which stands in an old Bunker myself and I was very impressed by it. A hobby-room that everybody needs in my eyes:-))

Again the Franco-Prussian war - But this time in a complete other scale
This time I have some photos from Alfred and Roland. This is a "small" diorama they made for a special exhitibion on the Franco Prussian war.
See here figures in scale 1:6 (in my eyes doll's like my daughters Barbies:-))
On the other hand great details in this scale.
French garde mobiles and line infantry against Prussian infantry.
And here you have Alfred on the left and Roland on the right, taking on the French officer.
Something you can't paint in 1/72...

New book about the Polish infantry in the Napoleonic wars
This morning the postman brought me these two long awaited books:
These is the last from a series on which the authors and painter worked for several years now.
in my eyes the best that is available on the Polish armies of the Napoleonic period!
Searching through the pages I understand now the sometimes chaotic uniform-changes of the Polish infantry.
In this series there are other books like cavalry, artillery, the Vistula legion etc. etc.
They are not cheap but I think quality has to have its price. On the other hand there are over 100 A4-size
uniformplates, covering every infantry unit of the Duchy of Warsaw.
You can buy them in Polish shops for some less money then in Germany and the UK.
For example here. The price for the two books here is around 90 Euros (375 Zloty).
I thought to share this with you just in case you need some good painting-guides for this lesser known Napoleonic army which saw fighting in 1809, 1812 and 1813 besides the three regiments serving in Spain.

More photos from the 1812-14 exhibition
Some days ago I posted the link to Alfred's facebook page where he posted photos from
the working on the exhibition.
The main focus of the exhibition is the crossing of the River Rhine near Mannheim 1813/14
Now there are some new photos there and they are looking great with dolls of Bashkires for exampe.
You can see the photos here.
For example I have never seen a Russian ammunition wagon in reality. It seems I have to visit this
exhibition in Spring too.
And as you have seen figures carved out from wood on this blog, you may not be surprised to
see other talents. These two cossacks here are sculpted from terracotta!!

Sharpes rifles are comming
Dear Hobbyfriends,
first of all I wish you all the best for the new year, health, time to relax and that your wishes come true.
I want to welcome Juan Fernandez as the 200th follower in this blog! With nearly 300.000 visitors since I started the blog I am really happy to see that you like our work for which I want to thank you all!!
Now comming to the first new figures for this year. Our Hobby-friend Hajo was impressed by the idea of the own production and wanted to start his own range too.
We know there are a lot of British rifles on the market from Revell and Italeri as well as several metals. But here we will have new poses - and who can have enough Rifles? :-)
