System Gribeauval

Andy told me he has the idea to cover the complete French Gribeauval system of guns, wagons, etc.

Interesting for me and some other friends who think about making gun-crews. For example one of my own projects is a horse artillery-crew for 1796 to go with the 6-pounder.

Here the first photos I got

Revolutionary war Austrians

Hi guys,

a diorama for the French revolution is a dream I had for a long time. Colourful units, lots of possibilities. Now I brought a few guys together who would support me to make this range.
The idea is everybody who sponsers figures for this range (price is 28 Euro for a master, including mould-making) will get the chance to buy the whole range for 30 cent each figure.

In the meantime I got the money (including my own) for around 30 masters. So we will bring the equivalent of 3 different sets of 10 figures each every three month.  The idea is to have 10 French, 10 Austrian and 10 "Exotics" with each output.

I want to cover two campaigns, 1793/94 Western front and 1796/99 Italy.
The first bunch will be:

10 Austrian infantry in firing line
10 French infantry attacking
10 Bavarian infantry in Rumford uniform

Next series will be

10 Austrians marching
10 French infantry firing line
10 Polish legion or Cisalpine infantry - or maybe a French horse artillery crew

Third bunch then

10 French infantry marching
10 Austrian infantry standing
10 Emigrants (maybe Le noble)

Fourth bunch

5 French Chasseur a Cheval
5 Austrian Cuirassiers
10 Austrian Freikorps

And so on, depends on how many figures we can sell to make the profit for new masters.

Here the first photos of Austrians. To this more "action-poses" Firing line, sculpted after a Keith-Rocco-painting there will be 4-5 more regular poses.

Here now the first masters:

So everybody who wants to join us in our group simply send me a mail. Maybe some of you already made conversion or sculpted some figures for this subject, maybe we could cast them too. The more figures we get, the faster the range can grow.

Isandlwhana 2004

Some month ago I found a box with hundreds of photos from my old diorama projects. All made with a very cheap analog camera (ok, of course it is the cameras fault if the pictures are not good:-))

I tried to scan several of them to show them here. Maybe you have fun to watch them in this quality too.

Since it is now narly10 years since we brought this diorama on show and my own collection of Zulu-war figures grew very much since then I thought about bringing it on show in the next 2-3 years again. This time with our usual 10.000+ figures. Especially since we have the complete range of HAT-figures available now.

Here the photos from it. First the overview

Here the charging Zulus:

And finally Ingo, me and Schmitty 10 years ago and at least Schmitty and me 20 kilos lighter...:-)

Our Bavarian Chevaulegers

Being a Bavarian myself it was always my dream to create a Bavarian army in 1/72 with the right uniforms they wore on campaign. So far we have HAT's plastics, several metals from Art-Miniatures, SHQ and a nice little range my friend Raimund Konieczko created years ago but which are sadly no more available. The fault of all this sets is that they show the parade uniform of the Bavarian army.

Some years ago I had the chance to get a special permission from the Munich Residence museum to make photos from their collection of battle-paintings.

They have paintings like this charge of the Bavarian chevaulegers at Borodino:

And just a suggestion if you want to paint your Italeri Carabiniers for Russia. Take light blue!

Here now our metals for this range which I put in our shop this morning.
