Cardinal Richelieu

This time Massimo made a historical personality. Our friend Dirk asked for Cardinal Richelieu and sent a painting from this great statesman over.

Now here the result:

As I am the evil influence on the other collectors I already asked Dirk if he wants to think about the Three musketeers too:.-)

Crush the Kaiser

You can imagine that I was after all 1/72 stuff when I visited the Salute.

There was a nice wargame about the first weeks of WW1 on the Eastern front. Some photos from me, others I found on the web.

The next was one from the western front. The start 1914 with colourful uniforms and 1918 with nothing left from the landscape, all khaki and tanks around. On the 1914 one I found these british cavalrymen here:

When I asked around one nice guy told me they are Lancer miniatures. So I simply took an order from their homepage to check how they fit with my 1/72 figures.

More WW1 was on display at the FIGZ two weeks ago. Markus Schenk was kind enough to send me all the photos he made. I was impressed by this tank attack as I wrote on a former post.

No wonder we lost the war....

Waterloo - the Cuirassier Brigade

Here the next photos from Arndt. This time a Brigade of Cuirassiers. The figures are all Zvedza with a mix of Art-Miniaturen specials

Really impressing! And I like the groundwork.

Cuddalore, some updates

It is my first week off from work and before we have our family holiday in Italy I have the time to work a little bit more on the project. Yesterday I sorted out all my British infantry from the Bunker Hill diorama we did around 10 years ago and painted much more French infantry.

Now the actual number of figures we have for the diorama is 3000 with over 2000 British between them. So I fear I have to paint a lot of French infantry and Mysoreans.

This morning Rainer sent two photos of which he did last weekend.

 My Mysorean cavalry on Italeri-horses.
And here his conversions of a Zvezda French Guard-Grenadier to a 1780ies Infantryman. Good idea!

The Highlanders are also ready and at the moment I paint the first testshots. I have to put them in the shop now too, for the start just with photos of the masters...

The Gewalthaufen is growing

As Massimo is not the only sculptor in our group, here are the latest figures from Frank who increased his Swiss army which is in our shop.

As we already have the commmand figures and skirmishers, here is now the center of the attack:

All of them very soon in our shop!

These two groops of six figures each, from the four photos aren't listed with the model board of the last picture. The new models are variations of the Drill 02 and 03 - models with jackets worn over the breastplates.

The new ones are:

Drill 02 B    Type 7-12   with jacket worn over the breastplate

Drill 03 B    Type 7-12   with jacket worn over the breastplate and with bevor

 

So this Gewalthaufen consists of 60 individual figures + commandgroup + musicians

Now again some more masters from Massimo - Ashigarus

It seems the Japanese invasion of Korea 1592 is our fastest growing range with now two collectors being involved in the subject.

Hm, maybe next some Korean or Chinese cavalry to charge them? :-))

Arndt Wolframs Waterloo diorama - first steps

Our Hobbyfriend Arndt works on an impressive Waterloo diorama for a special exhibition in the Prussian army museum in Wesel next year.

See here the first steps, a French brigade advancing. The figures here are Schillings and Art-Miniaturen. I can guess the weight of this plate:-)
